$5.6 million Keno win at Tradies Caringbah

Tradies Craingbah

In June 2017 a Sutherland Shire man has turned a $2 Keno ticket purchase into $5.6 million after winning the Keno.  The father of two purchased the ticket at Tradies Caringbah RSL. When the winning numbers dropped the 47-year-old was no longer at the venue leaving the $5.687 million jackpot unclaimed for nearly 24 hours.

The man, a bricklayer, returned to Caringbah Tradies on his break to check his ticket, where he received the life-changing news.  He plans to go on a European trip with his family, but has no intention of quitting work.

Tradies is a RSL club (The Returned and Services League)where the community can gather, relax and enjoy themselves. Tradies has continued to grow and develop to meet the needs of the community.

Tradies amalgamated with Caringbah RSL in March of 2009. This merger resulted in more facilities being available for patrons, and also more opportunities for Tradies team members. Since the amalgamation, Tradies Caringbah has come into its own as the perfect venue to visit for patrons looking to relax and unwind. Tradies has renovated the club with a new cafe and children’s outdoor playground as well as an updated restaurant, bar, TAB and outdoor deck area.

The winner bought the Keno ticket, worth $5,687,135, at about 2pm on his weekend sunday but might have left without knowing their numbers were drawn till he came back to claim the prize. The winning numbers – 7, 16, 26, 36, 37, 42, 55, 67, 71, and 75 – were randomly chosen via the popular Keno Kwikpik option.

The jackpot is the first ever Keno Mega Millions win in the country since the new higher jackpot game was launched in November 2016.

Another Australian Keno winner who took home $1.4 million said that winning the lottery would not change his life despite his millionaire windfall.

Keno spokesperson David Dicker congratulated Keno’s NSW million-plus jackpot winner for 2017, saying the team was thrilled the jackpot would change the winner’s life in such a positive and significant way.
